I recently belong to the students of English Department at Surabaya State University who major in English Education on the third semester. There are more than 150 students in my year in which 50% of them come from outside Surabaya, like: Probolinggo, Madiun, Situbondo, Jombang, and so forth. I am one of those students who also come from a town which is located quite far away, out of Surabaya. A town where I was born, an incredibly awesome town with fresh air, gorgeous view which is known for its bamboo and leather handicrafts, is called Magetan. Besides, like many other towns, Magetan has also the most well-known tourism object. While Probolinggo has Mount Bromo, Jogjakarta has Borobudur Temple and Malang has Coban Rondho, Magetan has a splendid lake which is called Sarangan. It is really right choice to visit while you are on vacation.
Sarangan is located approximately 12 kilometers away from Magetan town square on the slope of Mount Lawu. It becomes so popular among East and Central Java’s tourists due to its strategic location and fabulous panorama. Since Sarangan is situated in the border of East Java and Central Java Province, it enables people who ride this way coming from those two regions to pass by, take a rest, refresh their mind, enjoy Sarangan fresh air while they have got tired taking long journey. Moreover, it is not only its strategic location but also its cozy nuance that makes thousands of people amazed of Sarangan Lake. Standing in the slope of Mount Lawu, Sarangan has cold and extremely fresh air with bright sunshine and fog sometimes. There are lots of fields planted with various vegetables, fruits, and tobaccos along the way to reach Sarangan. When you have reached Sarangan tourism object, you will be directly welcomed by many people selling fruits, flowers, plants, traditional snacks and foods, handicrafts, clothes, and so on which usually can not be found in other places. Also, you will meet several people offering horse riding and speed-boating. If you want to enjoy the beauty of Sarangan, those two facilities are likely to be considerable to choose. By choosing horse riding, you can enjoy the view of forests, hills, and mountain next to the lake, surround it. But then, you will probably have to be more aware of the monkeys along the way, especially when you bring some foods or snacks with you. Unless, those monkeys will steal them away. For you who prefer spending your time with your family and friends enjoying the beauty of Sarangan lake, speed-boating may be a perfect choice. You can also get closer to the small island which is located in the middle of the lake that you can take photographs while you are on the speed boat. Again and again, you may need to be little bit careful of the other speed boats which possibly pass next to you with quite high speed as sometimes the waves created by them will get your clothes wet. But still, you do not have to be terrified since the wonderful panorama will drives you satisfied. In addition, you can also go to the out bond facility to explore your adventurous soul or go to Tirtosari waterfall and strawberry agricultural field where you can put the fruits by yourself, next to the lake. If you feel tired, you can reserve accommodation that mostly affordable and reasonable.
Overall, if you decide to go on vacation, Sarangan lake can be a perfect choice to choose for its strategic location, great view, various facilities, and the reasonable cost. You will get much of satisfaction without worrying spend lots of your money. It is inevitably interesting, right?
